PSALM 10:16-18 Times Of Trouble

Good Morning Psalmsters...or whatever time you are reading this.

"The Lord is King forever and ever; nations have perished from His land. O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble, You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may cause terror now more." (Psalm 10:16-18)

The question that the Lamenting Psalmist kicks off this Psalm of Lament with is this..."Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in TIMES OF TROUBLE.?"
(Psalm 10:1)

It appears that the wicked have free reign over the afflicted...and God is no where to be found. It appears that the wicked are getting more and more arrogant as they afflict the afflicted. The Psalmist...most likely David...continues to plea/pray/intercede with God to show himself and vindicated the afflicted and deal with the wicked.

Later on in Psalm 37 we will look at what we are suppose to do when it looks like the wrong doers and evil doers look like they are getting away with murder. The bottom line is that we should press in to the one who can deal with the wicked in TIMES OF TROUBLE.

The Psalmist ends this Psalm with confidence...that the Lord who is King forever and ever...has heard the desire (Psalm 37:4) of the humble...and will strengthen the heart of the humble as he inclines His ear to the humble. Vindication is in the hands of the Lord...the wicked man of the earth may cause terror no more. Come quickly Lord.
